PROJECT MANAGER (m,f,d) - Climate Action Projects

We are looking for a highly-skilled project manager to help managing climate action projects. You will be responsible for the technical supervision and execution of national and international projects, but also for developing innovative ideas for product development, sales and market development.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of software and geoinformation products in the domain of climate action projects from the early conceptualization phase to the final implementation.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure successful user stories.
  • Collaborate with software developers, users, and customers to ensure your work has a real impact.
  • Provide research results, knowledge, and new technologies to customers through technical publications, presentations, training sessions, web, and social media.
  • Represent innovations from RSS in national and international forums and provide consultancy services for a wide range of customers.

Your qualification:

  • Master or PhD in geoinformatics, environmental science, geography or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in remote sensing and in leading technical teams
  • Experience in planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of projects
  • Experience in sales and proposal development
  • Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (m,f,d)

You will:

  • As developer you take on an important role making our web-applications more popular
  • You support us with your ideas, concepts and feedback in frontend and backend application development
  • You test, experience and question current trends in web mapping
  • You share your knowledge in the team and keep yourself up to date on digital trends

Your qualification:

  • Degree in computer science or geoinformatics
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing web applications, frontend and backend
  • Experience with React or other front-end Javascript frameworks, LeafletJS, CesiumJS and UI/UX design
  • Programming knowledge in Java Script, HTML, CSS, REST-API
  • Knowledge of QGIS, PostgreSQL, Git, Python is an asset

ENGAGING WORK FOR STUDENTS

Are you studying geography, geoinformatics, geodesy or environmental management? Then apply for a study-related or voluntary internship. You will get to know the work processes in our company and have the opportunity to work on current projects here at our office. We recommend a period of three months in order to get to know the complex topic of earth observation and the many software tools in detail. In addition, after a successful internship, we offer the opportunity to complete a bachelor's or master's thesis in our company:

  • Good knowledge and first practical knowledge of remote sensing
  • Basic knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Basic proficiency in image processing (Erdas Imagine, ENVI) or open source software
