GlobeDrought – large-scale identification of drought hazard, vulnerability and risk
June 6, 2018Join us at the COP13!
October 19, 2018The DeMo-Wetlands team traveled to Rwanda this month, meeting with local stakeholders and exchanging the latest advances in geospatial products for wetlands. The DeMo-Wetlands project has been running since 2015 and aims to provide maps on surface water dynamics, wetland extent, potential wetlands, land cover/ land use, and wetland use intensity to local conservationists, scientists and government authorities.
RSS met with multiple stakeholders from governmental bodies and NGO's in order to present these advances and gain a local perspective on what this information could contribute to local communities and environmental targets. Once completed, these products will be made available to local authorities and researchers free of charge, and incorporated into the global wetlands database hosted by the GEO WETLANDS Community.
